About the Project

A considerable population of unemployed youth, spanning both urban and rural areas and falling within the EWS/SC/ST categories, encounters barriers due to their impoverished socio-economic backgrounds. Affording training in digital multimedia/IT fields, despite the promising employment opportunities these sectors offer, remains a challenge.

To address this challenge, NITCON is conducting the training program sponsored by the MEITY (Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Got. of India), titled "Training in Digital IT/Field for EWS/SC/ST Candidates in Delhi, UP, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Haryana,", which focuses on cultivating trained personnel proficient in Digital Technologies.

The training program, aiming to benefit 8000 EWS/SC/ST candidates, strives to catalyse socio-economic upliftment within their families. Based on a comprehensive analysis of demographic and economic factors, the project targets regions with a significant representation of marginalized communities, such as SC/ST/EWS populations. The selection process is guided by considerations like the concentration of these communities in states like Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Haryana.

The training initiative anticipates creating a skilled workforce within the EWS/SC/ST category, specializing in emerging employable skills. This, in turn, empowers them to secure gainful employment or venture into self-employment, contributing to the economic well-being of themselves and their families.

The trainee’s selection process adheres to common norms and parameters suggested by NSQF and the skill sector in the IT/ITeS category. Candidates from SC/ST/EWS categories are considered, with a minimum qualification requirement of 10th pass for most courses. A basic background in art or science is preferred to ensure a foundational understanding of their field. Additionally, efforts are made to ensure a mix of male and female candidates, fostering inclusivity and diversity.
